PSS #59
Bulk order of TP, Tissue, Paper Towels
0%
Description
will soon have a large storage at PSS.. which gives us options such as storing a huge amount of toilet paper ...
I would like quotes - Alibaba ... 3 ply TP .. if same cost, then do half 2 ply, half 3 ply. I would imagine the same company might make Paper towels (must be individually wrapped - just get the cheapest) and Facial tissue (want the small/cheap boxes used in hotels).
For TP, thinking around 10,000 rolls (max 15,000)
For Facial Tissues, 1000 boxes
Paper Towels, 500
Sadly, for a big manufacturer, these are small numbers .. .so if i need to increase, tell me ... and I would imagine lot cheaper to use 1 vendor so everything can be shipped as a single container. If we find out facial tissue or paper towels complicate, then just do TP. And be good to get link of all their product line.
I will get a rough estimate from current vendor that is in CA as well.

TP Box size (96 rolls)
L 25" 1/25
W 17" 1/2
D 17" 3/4
So rounding up to 18x18x25.5= 4.8 cu ft.... so for PSS shed, for a 9 foot stretch, should be able to pack 110 boxes.
As for Pactex - we asked for a quote of 38 boxes.. shipping was $125 - which is roughly 3 shipments at $40/each per 2 box.. so we would be saving about $1400 in shipping by storing some of this stuff.
38 Units: 1,708.10
Freight 125.00
Net Amount 1,833.10
Tax 161.07
Total Amount 1,994.17
So considering all shipping cost, etc, each case of 96 rolls = 62.63/case = $.54/roll
If still getting at 2 rolls at a time like we have been doing, pactec is $75/case at $.78/roll
10,000 rolls of TB, we will only use about 22% of the new pss storage area.. so still leaves room for furniture, etc.. so with these bigger numbers, i am hoping the Jal/Kim can get us a good quote. If we do 15,000 rolls, it will use up 33% of storage - which is a lot - guess at that point, we could save it at BI, lol. A 9 foot area, going all the way to ceiling, will store about 110 cases.

A 20' 8 x 8.5 standard size storage container will fit around 16,040 rolls of TP ...
Also found out that there are 2 US based locations - one in CA (Procter and Gamble - P&G) and one in OK (Kimberly Clark) ... P&G has a supplier website - https://pgsupplier.com/
I don;t think we will get approved to be a supplier w/out being a reseller.. will need to do more research.

I think we found our solution. Although I still hate to know if getting a big container is a good idea. I found a local store here in Phoenix. Cheaper than. Pectex and we don’t have to worry about shipping since it’s close to my house. Just means more supplies to carry up. Costs $43.99 a case.

I've never looked at the DZee website for the first time ... I am shocked I was never informed about these rules as I would think pretty darn important...
Shipping - none if over $1k in orders - so we should do conditioner, shampoo, etc. With this info, think best if we also try and do stuff like coffee, etc.
Tax - never any tax, even on small orders - unlike PacTex 9.4% taxes
For TP, the magic number is 40 boxes - where we can get for #37.99/box - shipped for free
Coffee - 10 cases is the magic number - $37.15/case - so comparable to existing vendor.
amazing what can happen by simply looking at the website. By my estimate, if we had ordered from DZEE instead of PacTex this past year, would have saved $1200 on just TP alone.

Angelie mentioned we had tested Dzee's Heritage Pro once before - not the greatest, but certainly works for DC/SJ/MH/ PSS LTR. so until we can get a better quote direct from China or Mexico, paying $38/case (all shipping/tax) is our best deal. It will be stored at SJ - where I will then take down to DC/PSS as needed.
But for PSS STR (so summer traffic), we should try the "Platinum" .. also $38/case, but at 80 rolls which is still a lot cheaper that PacTex, but nicer (based on the size/weight).
I did contact DZEE - the last order took an entire FedEX truck .. which would be very pricy for them. They said that they do allow for pickup from Vegas, but would not offer any freight discounts (I think the operator was making this up because not something she could authorize). Next time we get a quote, lets ask in the form of an email so that it is in writing - which tends to be more accurate. We will order 40 cases, get a quote, then ask if there is any additional savings if we did local pickup. Their warehouse, as I confirmed, does allow for pickup.
